heyyy heyyy! after doing such a fierce, geometric, colourful mani, i wanted to do something that was more demure. so i grabbed my most modest orange and threw some green and black on my super-long obnoxious nails. “demure”…me? LOLZ, that’s as demure as it gets!
this one kind of reminds me of marie antoinette stylez. i don’t know why…maybe its the fact that it uses a delicate pastel pattern with black? well anyways, we all know she was the original bad bitch (take note, nicki minaj, and study lil kim while you’re at it) so i love this one long time!!
so i was at the dollar store recently casually perusing the craft aisle (aka picking every item and contemplating how reasonable it would be to stick them on my nails) when i found these half-pearl sticker things. they are SO. FRIGGIN. CUTE. i love them! the pack came with 10 in this size, 10 in a medium size, and 10 in a large size. probably won’t be using the large ones one my nails, but STILL. all for UN DOLLAR! yess!! i love dollarama!
so to go with the pearls i wanted to stick with my pastel colours. being an obnoxious person overall i lack pastel colours….nail polish, makeup, clothes, shoes…everything is bright as fuck. so i narrowed it down to the purple and the orange, it looks so cute! very appropos for spring, which i am SO excited for!! enjoy :)
so i REALLY didnt want to take off the neon orange but that little voice inside my head that likes painting nails so much was like…’dooooo eeeeeettt’. also i kinda had to do it today because i have to do a st. patty’s one for this weekend! WOO!
today i have peacock feathers!! they so purrty. i shoulda done all my nails with the feather design but i thought it would take way longer than it did, so i just didn’t put down a white base for all of them. next time! there are 6 different polishes used on the feathers themselves : urban outfitters green #1, revlon (WOOOO) tangerine, revlon midnight affair, opi no room for the blues, and of couse, essie shine of the times (SOOO SPARKLY YAYY), and my black striper. for the glitter fade i used urban outfitters green #1 and revlon blue mosaic. enjoyyy!! :D
NEON NEON NEON NEONNNN!!! so christina calls me this morning and is all ‘come over because i have something i think you’ll really like’, and so i go over with some tims and i see NEON ORANGE nail polish that glows under blacklights. and i was all:

and now i have the most awesome nails that kind of look like traffic pylons, but in THE MOST AWESOME WAY. MY NAILS PRACTICALLY GLOW IN THE DAYLIGHT, MOTHERFUCKERS.
3 days later, and i’ve got another manicure…pretty average timing if you ask me haha. I was going to do it again tonight for a-trak, i’m thinking nails that are obnoxious as fuck? YES. yes. THAT PLEASES ME.
this one is pretty shagalicious, aka, seventies. i think it might be the colour. honestly the whole orange tweed chairs / wood paneling / white shag carpet aesthetic of the seventies totally grosses me out (you’d have to be blind AND have bad taste to come up with that) HOWEVER, the colours look pretty cool on my nails. if i do say so myself. not to toot my own horn or anything :D i think the chevron pattern also makes it less cheesy and more…umm…uuhh….ya. cant think of anything that rhymes with ‘cheesy’. lets just say AWESOME.

Just so y’allz know, there’s a sale going on at urban outfitters on nail polish atm!
i mean, theres tons of other cool stuff on sale too, but obviously the nail polish is top priority here. there are some colours that are just 99 cents, and others that are 2/8$, and all sale items are 30% off anyways!
i just got a creamy-peachy pale orange colour for 77 cents. SEVENTY SEVEN CENTS, MOTHAFUCKAS! go there! get one! my nails look like orange sorbet :D

So these are polka-dot nails. They are super easy and super fun, i already got complimented on them twice today and my ego is just LOVIN it. i used the end of a bobby pin as a dotting tool and an old business card as my palette (not my own business card. im not baller enough to be throwing those around all willy nilly!! YET. yet. mwaha!)
i definitely love the monochrome orange polka dots, and i chose blue because it is the complementary colour to orange. i.e., it is opposite to orange on the colour wheel. this means that these are the colours that stand out the most next to each other. other example pairings : purple & yellow, red & green. OMG. employing the principle of complementary colours on my manicure = art nerdgasm YYEEEEEE!! AAHHH!!! aahhh!! ahhh. oooo. *ahem*. well that was awkward.
