After identity fest i felt sooooo dirty…OMG GUYS. PORT-A-POTTIES. NOT YOUR FRIENDS. as soon as i got home, i took a shower, exfoliated, scrubbed, body-washed, lathered, shampooed, conditionered, moisturized, YOU NAME IT, then did my nails. i literally took off a layer of EVERYTHING. music festivals ROCK, but TOIILLLEETTSSS!
ANYWAYS, because i felt like i needed to be super clean, i gave myself a SUPER GIRLY manicure. SO out of my usual style, i kinda like it but its day 2 and lets be frank, there’s only so long i can sport pink and flowers on my nails haha. ALSO i fixed up my bike today and now the white is all dirty from bike grease. pink? flowers? me? PAH! I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!
this is an oolllddd pic but i just never found the time to upload. i originally had it green for a job interview (you know, keeping it simple with a sparkly dark green). i got the job (the one at the law firm, YAWN, no, DOUBLE-YAWN), obviously because she liked my classy dark square nails so much.
anyway i came home from the interview and could not STAND the sight of my nails being all classed up and shiz, so i HAD to take a paintbrush to them. and of course i added lace, cuz i was going for that bad-ass-mofo vibe.
anyway. PRETTY PRETTY. kay i dont know if any of that made sense because i get deliriously tired at around 10:30 pm these days. thank you 6am starts to a summer job. i literally get home / gym it / eat / watch sitcoms for an hour / pass out. I AM AN OLD LADY.
OMG, sorry i’ve been so MIA you guys. i got back from my field course and have been working on an epic 15-page lab write-up for it. like, scientific journal styles. as in, i cant bs it. BLARG. its 3:20 am and i CANT LOOK AT MY GINORMOUS EXCEL SPREADSHEET ANYMORE.
so anyways, ON TO NAILS! YAY!
here’s a pic of brit’s nails that i did for her a while back. aren’t they cool? she has the same peach nail polish that i have from urban, and i think the colour looks wayyy better on her than it does on me, complexion-wise. and im loving the “tribal tattoo” look…can’t you just see that on a rock climber’s arm? can’t you? hey y’all! so i’m on a field course right now, aka i can’t do my nails for two weeks :( i figure this is a badly-needed detox though, my nails haven’t seen the light of day for longer than like 10 hours at a time in the past few months. SOOOOO bad for them…but SO. SO. GOOD.
this mani is one i did for christina. ever since i started the blog, whenever i go to my friends’ houses they want me to do their nails for them! i love it cuz i get to practice and take pictures and put their pretty hands all over this tumblr, and they love it cuz they love me. i mean my nails. i mean me.
ANYWAYS this is definitely one of my cuter ones, the watermelon is just soo perfect for summer!! i think im going to do this on all my nails soon. PAINT ALL THE NAILS! after my field course, that is. it’s been like two days and i never want to see forest ever again.
heyyy heyyy! after doing such a fierce, geometric, colourful mani, i wanted to do something that was more demure. so i grabbed my most modest orange and threw some green and black on my super-long obnoxious nails. “demure”…me? LOLZ, that’s as demure as it gets!
this one kind of reminds me of marie antoinette stylez. i don’t know why…maybe its the fact that it uses a delicate pastel pattern with black? well anyways, we all know she was the original bad bitch (take note, nicki minaj, and study lil kim while you’re at it) so i love this one long time!!

howdy, gangsters! check out these sweet neon pink and green fade nails! they remind me of happiness and sunshine and watermelon candies and summer. UNLIKE the pissy weather in kingston right now. i swear the atmosphere over here has menopause, guys.
did this with a sponge, just like the last tiger-stripe ones i did, it was super easy. adding a top coat really helps to blend all the colours together. i like that the fade is not 100% gradual, it looks like i did it with that spray-paint tool in microsoft paint. LOL GUYS REMEMBER MICROSOFT PAINT? HAHAHAHA
i wrote an 18-page paper with over 30 references in four days this last week, and the first thing i did after clicking ‘submit’ was my nails. MY POOR BABIES, how they have been CRUELLY neglected this past week! SHHH, shhh…mommy’s here now, no more undergrad essays EVVAARRR!!!
so i’ve been experimenting around with trying to get a perfect madeline poole-esque fade, and guys honestly the trick is SPONGES. howww did i not figure that out before?
